Gary Morrison has spent most of his working career in the security industry and is highly regarded in New Zealand, and offshore, for his security knowledge and his work in lifting standards and performance within the industry.
A qualified accountant by trade, Gary joined Armourguard Security as a junior accountant and during his 20+ years with the company progressed through a number of senior management roles before eventually filling the role of General Manager for Ne Zealand and Fiji for over five years. During this time Gary led the company through significant growth and was recognised on several occasions as one of the parent company’s (Tyco International) outstanding leaders.
On leaving Armourguard, Gary established Icon Security Group, which over a ten-year period became New Zealand’s leading privately owned security operator and featured in the reality TV series, Noise Control.
Having sold Icon Security in 2013, Gary filled some specialist consulting roles before accepting the position of CEO for the NZSA in 2016.
The association is the Peak Body representing licensed security providers in New Zealand. Under Gary’s leadership, the association has experienced significant growth and has become widely accepted as the voice for the industry and a strong advocate for lifting standards and the reputation of the industry.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, during the 1980s, I have always been passionate about creating safe and secure environments. After studying International Marketing Management, I launched Moscow 282, an event space in Johannesburg, in 2004. This venture introduced me to the challenges of event security in a high-risk urban environment.
In 2007, I relocated to New Zealand and joined the New Zealand Police, graduating as a Sworn Police Officer in December of that year. During my six years on the frontline, I responded to serious incidents, managed protests, and provided support during the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes.
In 2013, I transitioned into close protection, specializing in executive protection. I had the honor of protecting three New Zealand Prime Ministers and working with local police in numerous international locations.
In 2018, I joined the private security sector, initially contracting with ASB Bank before accepting a full-time position with the U.S. State Department as their first local investigator based in Auckland. In this role, I collaborated with U.S. specialists, worked on complex investigations with various agencies, and provided diplomatic protection for visiting high-level U.S. government officials.
The COVID lockdowns prompted my return to the corporate world as the Executive Protection and Events Security Manager for Westpac Bank.
In 2025, I began my current role as Director of Corporate Security with Auror. I remain committed to fostering a culture of safety and security in every environment I manage and look forward to continuing my journey in protecting individuals and organizations in New Zealand and globally.
Glenn Sinclair

Glenn is an accomplished Risk Manager with a distinguished career. A former police officer with extensive experience in the Criminal Investigation Branch, Glenn has a proven track record across several business sectors including profit protection, risk and operational management.
He started his business career in the retail sector and has worked for several large brands. Glenn played a pivotal role in developing and executing risk and security programmes for several well-known companies and driving impactful change. This involved leadership and staff training, physical security, inventory control, profit protection strategies and investigations.
Having served as the National Operations Manager for a leading New Zealand security company, Glenn successfully led security operations across the country, optimizing safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. He also held the role of Security and Safety Manager for a major Australasian property company, where he developed and implemented comprehensive risk strategies to protect both assets and people. Glenn is currently the Retail and Operational Risk Manager for national DIY retailer and trade merchant, Mitre 10.
In addition to hands-on experience, Glenn is deeply involved in New Zealand’s risk management community. He is a committee member of the Profit Protection Future Forum, an inaugural member of the NZ Security Leaders Forum, and a committee member of the NZ Crowded Places Business Advisory Group.
Committed to continual professional development, Glenn holds tertiary qualifications from the Auckland University Business School and remains well-connected within New Zealand’s security and risk management circles. His leadership and strategic insight make him a trusted expert in physical security, risk planning, and the protection of people, assets and profits.
Dr Bridgette Sullivan-Taylor

Bridgette has expertise in strategic-decision making in the context of uncertainty and developing organisational resilience (OR) strategy that has helped inform policy and practice in both NZ and the UK.
Bridgette has worked on strategic projects funded by the UK Cabinet Office Civil Contingencies Secretariat focused on public-private partnership and developing OR capabilities to a range of extreme events and threats. Projects included: development of the OR BS standard, review of the CCA Act (2004), developed the National Risk Register and Regional Resilience Forums; developed resilience scenarios and multi-agency responses as an all of government approach linked to security sector related remits to mitigate the impact of extreme events. Member of the UK Government Emergency Planning College (York) and Business Continuity Institute (UK) to develop OR capabilities.
At the University of Auckland she has continued as a subject matter expert driving evidence-based change through thought leadership avenues to executive education participants and internal departments; UoA Business Recovery Programme Consultant; informed the strategic plan; providing the business recovery leadership team, through the impacts of COVID-19 and the global pandemic, creating a framework to support during the recovery phase, including supporting the Risk Office and revising the Enterprise Risk Framework.

Willie’s Police career was Operations Centric for most of that time rising to the commissioned rank of Inspector.
At that rank he was seconded to various high profiles operation such as Pike River mine disaster, 2 x Christchurch earthquakes, Rugby World Cup Planning and Solomon Island emergency deployment 2011.
In recognition of his operational duties Willie was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2013.
At AUT the key focus for Willie is the safety of students, staff, visitors and facilities. Willie has oversight of Manned and Technical Security services, Emergency Management and Business Continuity Planning.
Willie is highly focussed on making AUT a Resilient Organisation.

Andrew brings more than 26 years of security technology and staff services strategy and implementation experience to end user clients.
During the last 10 years, Andrew has delivered independent security and risk management advisory services through a national independent consultancy firm and more recently as National Brand Manager (Security) & Enterprise Security & Risk Manager for a Wesco – Anixter technology solutions distributor, Atlas Gentech NZ Ltd.
Andrew regularly contributes to the profession through voluntary sector leadership, development, and delivery of subject matter to special interest groups, such as New Zealand Security Association, ISC2 and ASIS International, in addition to contributing thought leadership pieces for industry online and print publications.
He is the immediate past ASIS International Chapter 148 Chairperson, 2018 New Zealand Security Industry Security Consultant of the Year, was voted to the top 10 IFSEC Global Influencers list of Commercial Security – End Users (Including Security Directors/Heads of Security), in both 2020 and 2021, voted top 10 influencer in Association Figures / Academics / Thought Leaders for 2022. Andrew is a founding member of the New Zealand Security Sector Network, the 2023 Head Judge for the IFSEC Global Influencers in Security & Fire Awards and the Co-Chair of the New Zealand Network for Women in Security.
PHYSEC and PERSEC disciplines is what Andrew is recognised as being highly skilled in. Following tasking’s supporting technology treatments with a consultancy in the central government space, Andrew has deepened his professional knowledge and developed an interest in the converged governance and INFOSEC disciplines.
David Turner

David Turner is a senior business executive and trusted advisor with over 20 years’ of experience in the risk management industry.
David joined the Australian Army and became part of a specialised team where he deployed to East Timor in 1999. After the military contracted to varied private and government organisations in leadership, risk and project roles; he opened his own company that advised on risk management and provided personnel for major projects including: BHPB, Rio Tinto, Multiplex, Police, Australian Elections, and also CHOGM 2011 working with State and Federal Police.
David was born in NZ and returned in 2016 to work on the Transdev Wellington rail network transition. He now lives in New Zealand permanently and has worked with Deloitte, KPMG, Defence, MOJ and PwC. He brings a unique blend of expertise across diverse areas with a focus on risk management of human behaviour – one of the more complex, dynamic, and often overlooked areas of the industry.
