Luke started his recruitment career in March 2011 when he joined a boutique recruitment firm in London. The firm specialised in the finance and accounting space, recruiting directly into the Financial Services. He built up a strong candidate and client base across different areas of the sector including; retail & investment banking, investment management, brokerage and the exchange space. In January 2016, Luke moved to Australia to set up an international office based in Sydney. This was a great opportunity for him to start an office from scratch and to continue to take the firm globally. Here he specialised in the governance space of compliance, risk and audit. Luke grew and managed a team making the office a success for the four years he was in charge.
In early 2020, Luke founded and launched his own consultancy – Avidity Recruitment Consultancy. Unfortunately, one month after commencing, the global pandemic resulted in a halt to recruitment within Financial Services. Being such a new business, and needing to support his family, he formed a specialised courier business. This filled a niche requirement and it didn’t take long before he ran a fleet of vans and a team of drivers across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. As the post-pandemic corporate world re-establishes, Luke has delved back into his passion and talents and reinstated Avidity Recruitment Consultancy.
Before recruitment, Luke was a golf professional for six years and in 2007 he became a fully qualified PGA golf professional after completing the three-year PGA degree course, attached to the University of Birmingham. In 2009 he moved to the island of Madeira where he was the head golf professional at one of the golf resorts on the island. He found this a great life experience and managed to learn Portuguese whilst there. He gained managerial experience and assisted in making the golf club run as smoothly as possible, along with teaching golf to the members and tourists.
